Hourly Chauffeur Service Singapore: How It Works and When to Book It

The fastest way to mismanage a VIP day is rebooking transfers one by one. Here is how hourly hire works and when the numbers make sense.

The most common misunderstanding about hourly chauffeur service in Singapore is that it is a luxury option for special occasions. In practice, it is one of the most cost-effective ways to manage a full corporate day — particularly when the alternative is rebooking individual transfers four or five times, each with separate lead times, surge pricing windows, and potential driver no-shows.

This guide explains exactly how hourly chauffeur service works, what it costs, when it makes commercial sense, and how to book it properly for corporate use.

What Is Hourly Chauffeur Service?

Hourly chauffeur service — also known as hourly disposal or hourly hire — gives you a dedicated driver and vehicle for a fixed number of hours. The vehicle stays with you for the entire booking period. You set the schedule, the driver follows it. There is no per-trip rebooking, no surge pricing, and no risk of the driver accepting another job between your meetings.

The driver is reachable via WhatsApp throughout the day. If your 11am meeting runs long and pushes your next transfer to 12:30pm, the driver adjusts. If you need an unplanned stop at a different location, there is no rebooking required.

The booking typically covers a minimum of three hours, with the clock starting from the driver's departure from the staging point to the agreed start location.

Vehicles Available for Hourly Booking

Any vehicle in our fleet can be booked on an hourly basis:

Executive Sedan (Toyota Camry / similar). Standard choice for individual executives and small groups of up to three passengers. Clean, professional, practical for CBD-to-CBD transfers and multi-meeting days.

Toyota Alphard or Vellfire. The premium choice for VIP guests, regional directors, or any situation where the vehicle itself communicates the level of hospitality. Captain seats, privacy glass, and significantly more cabin space than a sedan.

Toyota Noah or Voxy MPV. Seven to eight seats. The right choice when a group needs to travel together without splitting across multiple vehicles. Frequently used for delegations arriving at Changi and travelling to multiple meeting venues in a day.

13-Seater Tourer. For larger groups — conference shuttles, investor roadshows with a full team, or multi-stop product launches. Can be booked alongside sedan or Alphard for mixed groups.

When Hourly Hire Beats Point-to-Point Booking

The calculation is straightforward. If a guest has three transfers in a day — airport to hotel, hotel to meeting, meeting to dinner — three separate point-to-point bookings will cost more than one four-hour hourly booking once you account for per-trip base rates, the risk of surge pricing between legs, and the coordination time your EA spends managing three separate confirmations.

Hourly hire specifically makes sense when:

The itinerary has more than two legs. Every additional stop after the first adds value to the hourly booking and reduces cost per transfer.

The guest has a flexible schedule. Meeting overruns are normal. With an hourly car, the driver waits. With a point-to-point booking, you are rebooking in real time while your guest stands at the lobby.

You are hosting an overseas client. Presenting a professional, uninterrupted transport experience across a full day reflects well on the host company. A Grab arriving ten minutes late does not.

There is significant luggage. Airport arrivals with large parties and full luggage loads need a vehicle that is confirmed in advance. Hourly hire from the airport covers both the arrival and the rest of the day in one booking.

Pricing: What to Expect

Hourly chauffeur rates in Singapore vary by vehicle class. As a working guide for corporate bookings:

Executive Sedan: from SGD $60–$75 per hour, minimum 3 hours.

Toyota Alphard / Vellfire: from SGD $90–$110 per hour, minimum 3 hours.

Toyota Noah / Voxy: from SGD $75–$90 per hour, minimum 3 hours.

13-Seater Tourer: from SGD $110–$130 per hour, minimum 3 hours.

These rates cover the driver, fuel, and ERP charges within Singapore. Cross-border transfers to Johor Bahru require a separate quote. Airport surcharges and late-night surcharges (typically after 11pm) may apply depending on the operator.

For corporate accounts with regular volume, preferred hourly rates are available. Most companies set up an account once they have used the service twice — the billing and rate consistency is easier to manage than ad-hoc bookings.

How to Book Hourly Chauffeur Service in Singapore

The booking process is straightforward. What matters is giving the operator the right information upfront so the driver can be properly briefed.

Information needed at booking: date and start time, pick-up location, planned itinerary (even approximate), number of passengers, luggage count if relevant, vehicle preference, and any specific requirements for the guest (e.g. VIP requiring name sign at pickup).

Most bookings are confirmed within 30 minutes via WhatsApp. For same-day bookings, a minimum of two hours lead time is advisable. Corporate accounts with an established relationship can often accommodate shorter notice.

Reconfirmation happens 12–24 hours before the booking with driver details — name, contact number, and vehicle plate. The driver will reach out directly if there are any questions about the pick-up location or itinerary.

Common Questions from Corporate Bookers

What if the itinerary changes on the day? Communicate via WhatsApp directly to the driver or operations team. Adjustments to stops and timing are handled in real time. If the booking needs to extend beyond the original hours, the driver will confirm availability and the additional rate before proceeding.

Can we add stops not in the original booking? Yes. The hourly rate covers the time, not the number of stops. Additional stops within the booking period are accommodated without extra charges beyond the hourly rate and any applicable tolls or parking.

What is the cancellation policy? Standard cancellation terms apply. For corporate accounts, cancellations with more than four hours notice typically carry no charge. Shorter notice cancellations may incur a partial fee depending on whether the driver has already been deployed.

Is GST included in the quoted rate? Rates quoted to GST-registered business entities are typically exclusive of GST. Corporate invoices will show GST separately for claiming purposes.
